President

Larry is a digital media veteran with more than 15 years of leadership experience in media, entertainment & technology.

He also has a deep background in producing, developing & financing successful film, television & new media projects including the Emmy-nominated TV series Project Greenlight for HBO & Bravo and documentary feature films Running the Sahara & First Descent for Universal Pictures & Lionsgate.

Prior to Vuguru, Larry served as President & Co-Founder of Agility Studios, a boutique multi-platform studio focused on developing & financing intellectual property-based businesses, where he helped build the franchise The Legion of Extraordinary Dancers, which is in worldwide distribution by Paramount. Larry also served as CEO & President of LivePlanet, a multi-platform production company co-founded by Matt Damon & Ben Affleck where he oversaw numerous projects in film, TV & new media. Prior to that, he was Director of Strategy & Operations at AOL Time Warner & a Senior Associate at Mercer Management Consulting (now Oliver Wyman).

Kristin Jones
Chief Creative Officer

Prior to joining Vuguru, Kristin spent five years as Senior Vice President of Production, International Development, and Acquisitions at Miramax Films where she oversaw more than 20 projects, including Academy Award-nominated films Tsotsi, Gone Baby Gone and The Queen. Before joining Miramax, Kristin served for six years as Vice President of Production and European Acquisitions at Buena Vista International, where she created a production label for the Disney international subsidiary and oversaw all projects, including the worldwide hit Calendar Girls.  She previously spent several years as a motion picture literary agent at International Creative Management.

 

David Shall
Head of Business Operations & General Counsel

Prior to joining Vuguru in 2010, David was Executive Vice President, Business Operations/General Counsel, FremantleMedia North America, Inc., where he oversaw business affairs for the hit television programs American Idol, America’s Got Talent and The Price is Right, and assisted in the formation and operation of Atomic Wedgie, FremantleMedia’s Digital Comedy Studio. David also served as Executive Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs and New Business Development, Twentieth Television, the syndication and first-run production division of Twentieth Century Fox. Earlier in his career, David worked as a business & legal affairs executive at FX Networks in New York City, Tribune Entertainment Company in Chicago and Paramount Domestic Television in Hollywood.

David received his B.A. in English and History, and J.D., from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.

Amy Kim
Head of Production

Amy started her career in production at Warner Bros. Television. In her spare time, she quickly moved on to producing independent shorts and pilots while also taking on the challenges of serving on various IATSE boards. West Bank Story, her last producing effort in the indie world, was honored by an Academy Award in 2007 for Best Live Action Short.

In 2005 she joined Nickelodeon as a Director of Production supporting various channels (Nickelodeon, TeenNick, Nick@Nite, TV Land) across development, current and on-air.

 

Scott Nocas
Head of Distribution & Marketing

A 16 year veteran of the entertainment industry, Scott has spent the last 12 years working in the digital video and gaming space, with experience encompassing strategy, content creation and acquisition, distribution and marketing.

Previously as VP of Content Programming and Marketing at Sony Network Entertainment, Scott worked with over 60 partners globally to bring content onto PlayStation Network, Bravias, Blu-ray players and mobile devices. He also managed the original content business on those emerging platforms. Prior to joining Sony, Scott was at Microsoft and launched Xbox LIVE’s Video Marketplace in 10 countries.  He led strategy, content programming, marketing and partner relationships.  While at Xbox LIVE, Scott created the Xbox LIVE Independent Video Channel for original digital content.  He acquired and launched The Guild, Horror Meets Comedy and Girls Go Geek.

Before Xbox LIVE, Scott managed business development and marketing for the U.S. Army’s video game America’s Army. Previous to the Army, Scott led video game licensing and online marketing for a startup film distribution company and started his own digital content company that focused on creating multi-platform genre entertainment for exploitation across the web, games and TV.  He started his career working in film and TV development at Paramount Pictures and Chris O’Donnell’s production company at Warner Bros.

Scott holds a B.A. from Franklin and Marshall College and currently lives in Los Angeles, CA. He is a member of the Producers Guild of America and International Academy of Web Television

 

 

 

Carlo Martinelli
Vice President of Development

Prior to joining Vuguru, Carlo was a VP at Bona Fide Productions. There, he was involved in films such as The Switch, Little Miss Sunshine, Little Children, and Cold Mountain. Upcoming films include The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman, The Greatest Movie Ever Made, The Abstinence Teacher and Nebraska (to be directed by Alexander Payne).

He worked in Motion Picture Literary Department at the William Morris Agency, and as a book scout at Gotham Scouting Partners. He is a graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.

 

Jeff Zack
Director, Business & Legal Affairs

Prior to joining Vuguru in 2012, Jeff was Of Counsel to a leading intellectual property litigation boutique in West L.A.  There, he litigated numerous intellectual property and general business matters while also developing client relationships for the firm.  Prior to that, Jeff was an associate at two prominent Century City law firms where he served as a litigator.

Before becoming a litigator, Jeff served as in-house counsel to the American Jewish Committee in New York, and also clerked for a Federal judge in New York's Eastern District.

Jeff received his B.A. in American History from McGill University in Montreal, and his J.D. from NYU School of Law.

Tom Cabral
Head of Accounting

Tom began working in film production in London before moving to New York to work on projects including The Door in the Floor and West 32. Tom moved into production accounting on Nickeloedon's The Wonder Pets and 3rd and Bird for Children’s BBC, and has since accounted films, scripted and reality television programs, as well as new media projects. Alongside this work, Tom co-founded Footnote Studios, a small independent production company.


Immediately prior to joining the team at Vuguru, Tom was the production accountant for Glenn Martin DDS, produced by Michael Eisner's Tornante Company.

CC Pearce
Director of Post Production

CC began his entertainment career as an intern at Vuguru until he was recruited by The Tornante Company to work in post production.  At Tornante he supervised many of the technical processes involved with Nickelodeon’s Glenn Martin DDS and the television pilot Circling the Drain.  He has additionally collaborated on, edited and produced a number of viral video projects.  He is ecstatic to return to Vuguru in his post production role.

Kate Grady
Production Coordinator

Prior to joining Vuguru, Kate worked across all platforms as both a producer and art director. Most notably she produced the web series and global commercial campaign for Eukanuba dog food, the Feature film The Promise Keeper and the PBS documentary special King: Man of Peace In a Time of War. Her most notable design experience includes work on AMC's The Walking Dead webisode series and multiple projects for FunnyorDie Presents and FunnyorDie.com.

Josh Inselberg
Creative Coordinator

Josh comes to Vuguru from Creative Artists Agency where he was the Motion Picture System coordinator, managing CAA's proprietary tracking system.  He brings a wealth of knowledge in both the studio and independent motion picture spaces.

Prior to joining CAA, Josh gained experience in theatrical publicity, story development and producing.  He also has extensive non-professional and semi-professional experience in physical production and writing.

He looks forward to bringing all of his working knowledge to this new and exciting multi-platform distribution model.

Greg Lewis
Post Production

Greg began his career as an intern for Vuguru where he was involved in post production of several productions. With excitement for the new distribution model, he worked in post production for Fox Digital Studio, overseeing workflows for their operations. He is thrilled to return to Vuguru and be at the forefront of multi-platform entertainment.
